Keeping Youth off the 'Failure' List

AMICI is an association of parents who have come together to provide counsel for people, mainly students, between the ages of 17 and 24. We expect help with any problem with which parents may be faced?not only those we have experienced in our ?vvn families, but those we have ourselves been fortunate enough to miss. The association was founded in October, 1964, but some of the members have been engaged voluntarily as individuals in work of this type for many years, before coming together to improve and extend their service. Members are drawn from a wide variety of occupations, live in different parts of the country, and subscribe to various religions or to none. The common bond is the parental concern to avert the tragedies which occur when young people are faced with problems they cannot overcome without some help. We seek to give as much help as is necessary?but no more?and we do not regard assistance ^ith a problem as an excuse for propaganda or Proselytisation of our own beliefs. The aim is simple: to help people to avoid being classed as 'failures'.
